As a branch of the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, Discover Sycamore is an organization devoted to promoting local events and community involvement that needed a low-cost online solution to aid in spreading the word quickly and efficiently.

Discover Sycamore works to disseminate marketing messages and endorse community participation in not-for-profit events in the city of Sycamore, Illinois. Being a member of the Sycamore Chamber, DRWS was best positioned to develop a customized website to fit the needs of the tourism-based group. Our over-arching inspiration for the design of this website was to utilize the quaint charm of the town captured in photographs to tell the story of Sycamore.

Another important feature of the website is the local business profiles. In order to develop this network of local businesses, we used custom application components to build a database structure for the storing of the data. The database is integrated with a content management system that enables the organization to make changes quickly and easily, without the need of a professional developer.

With tourism and local economic growth at the heart of their mission, Discover Sycamore needed an online presence to drive traffic to the site, to the town and to the storefronts of area businesses. In addition to web design and information architecture, DRWS incorporated cutting-edge SEO strategies to build search rankings and yield higher placement in organic results.
